Background knowledge:
In the wild, horses visit a water source several times a day and stand with their hooves in the water when they drink. This allows the hooves to absorb water and regulate their moisture levels independently.
The current forms of husbandry and the different breeding lines have changed the conditions (balance) created by nature. As a result, many horses today suffer from dry, brittle, cracked and brittle hooves. Even a cracked hoof can be traced back to this.
Commercially available hoof grease contains preservatives, colorants, a small amount of laurel oil and a base that does not provide moisture.
"Hoof - REPAIR - Balm" contains natural ingredients such as pure laurel oil, which promotes healthy hoof growth. It also contains high-quality glycerin and wool wax ointment, which moisturize the hoof and make it elastic and supple. "Hoof-REPAIR-Balm" acts like a protective skin on the hoof after application.
“Huf – REPAIR – Balsam” is free from preservatives and colorants. The high-quality ingredients are manufactured and mixed by hand.
“Hoof – REPAIR – Balm” and dry, cracked, brittle hooves, as well as lost iron as a result of a lack of elasticity of the hoof, are a thing of the past.
Tips & suggestions:
Horses kept in open stables should not walk on sandy ground for half an hour after treatment.
On very wet ground or on longer cross-country rides, close old nail holes with some “Hoof REPAIR Balm” (prevents bacteria from entering the hoof).
In the case of cracked hooves or hoof cracks, apply the “Hoof REPAIR Balm” a little thicker to the cracked area and massage in well with your fingers (make sure that no tension occurs in the hoof due to the shoeing).
We recommend regular hoof care by the farrier/hoof carer/hoof orthopedist every six to eight weeks)
Application:
Apply Healthy Horses “Hoof - REPAIR - Balm” thinly every two days for the first few weeks with a soft brush (from the tread to the coronary band), then massage in with your fingers and light pressure from the coronary band downwards in circular movements.
After about 8-10 weeks, apply about 2-3 times a week.
